Joy is to behold and wonder

by Simon Auchterlonie

I dare not but breathe .... in your direction
for as much as to cause you
to even think that ...

So please think .... no more
than you see as written.

But for the joy
that has held you.
As a trembling leaf,
a whisper falls to the ground.

Fear not the folly of these words
for there is no more to them
than wonder: As the light
that passes, across your face
or the tear that rolls
from your eye.
