The following
poems were written by pupils of South Wolds School, Keyworth on
the broad theme of 'the stormy sea'
The
Stormy Sea
by Thomas Hudson 7K
The
wind roars,
Lightning bursts through the dark cloudy sky
The rain pours down,
Like many guns firing at the ground.
Waves
charge up the sand like wild horses,
Knocking down all obstacles in their path.
Thunderous clashes, louder than any drum,
Scaring old and young alike.
The
storm has stopped,
Debris and small animals washed up on the shore.
The rain stopped,
Leaving marshy bogs everywhere.
Everything is calm again,
People are waiting for the next storm.

The
Stormy Sea
by
Jacqui Harris 7K
The
white waves like race horses,
Lapping over the rocks.
The wind blowing and howling,
A sharp piercing noise.
Like two, loud, violent cymbals,
And raindrops like golfballs.
The moon like a human face,
A dark grey circle.

Storm
by Richard Canton
The
storm is rough and chopping like a butchers knife,
The wind is cold and wet,
The waves get bigger and bigger,
The rain gets harder and harder,
The sea sweeps over everything in its way.
Like
a duster over dirt,
As it rages through the night,
The rain clatters down on the houses,
The trees shake and tremble,
Slowly the storm calms down and everything is quiet.

Stormy
Sea Scene
by
Ryan Haynes 7H
Thunder
cut the silence,
Lightning slashed the sky,
Rain whipped the windows,
And the wind did not seem shy.
Crash!
Flash! Pitter-Pater! How!
This type of weather is certainly foul!
Waves
bombarded the shores,
Clouds filled the sky,
The island became deserted,
It would be foolish to ask why.
Crash!
Flash! Pitter-Patter! How!
This type of weather is certainly foul!
Thunder
came to a standstill
The lightning toa halt,
A storm without a warning,
Who now can we fault?

Stormy
Sea
by Helen Turner
The dark,
black sea swirled and surged
Violently, thorwing itself high in the air.
Waves as big as houses rolled onto the shore,
As fast as galloping horses.
The wind
howled through every house, through every cave,
The noise of the thunder,
the crashing waves and the wind was deafening.
The island
was in fear of being swallowed
By the thrashing, angry sea.
White
lightening lit up the cloudy sky,
And rain drops as big as pebbles splashed
Heavily on the ground.
Hell was being let loose outside.

The
Stormy Sea
by Holly Parker 7H
The
rumbling whispers
Handing in the air
I know that it's coming
But from where?
Looking
up at the sky
The clouds dark and towering
The wind so strong
And ever so powering
The
sea like a volcano
Erupting from below
A deep, dark red
With a scarlet glow
The
slamming rain
Exploding as it hits the ground
Like a hammer hits a post
With a pound, pound, pound
The
sand hissing
Like it's out of control
The noise and sound
From a deep snake's soul
The
white sheet thunder
Hurtling from the sky the thunderous atmosphere
Always comes with a stirm,
But why oh why?

Stormy
Sea Poem
by
Michael Cox 7H
The
wind roared menacingly at the island,
The thunder screamed at the rocks,
The lightning flashed across the heath,
The raindrops rattled at the windows,
Chorusing together, a great orchestra of terror.
The
inky black sea hurled itslef at the beach,
Clinging to the shells,
Tryhing to drag itself ukp the dunes,
And splash down into the dell.
Clouds
rolled in, crowding the skies,
Swallowing the moon in a swirling fog,
A crash, a bang and a thunderous roar,
Wreckage is strewn by an udying force.
Then
the wind died down,
The thunder was muted,
The lightning extinguished,
And the raindrops no more.

Stormy
Sea
by James Best 7K
The
piercing waves swirling wet,
Whipping cold like a circus whip,
Slashing darkness like a world wide threat,
The rough surging waves crashing and clashing,
Birds screeching from the Sky,
Lightning strikes violent and hard,
The ship capsizes,
But all still goes on.

Stormy
Sea Scene
by Tom Ackroyd 7H
The
sea unleashed wave after wave of perilous concrete
It collided against the majestic cliffs but retreated back for another
destructive blow
The sky grew dark with envy and retired back up into sanctuary,
High up at the highest point in the atmosphere.
But
it stormed back and replied with a thunderous blast and a shriek
of penetrating lightning.
The ocean unleashed an apocalypse from the murky depths of the bleak
wasteland,
Down at the bottom of the sea where no man's footstep must disturb
the golden laced sand.
A
tamed beast that couldhold its trainers order no longer
But then the most superior contender arose from the above the bloody
battlefield
And broke through the barrier of clouds.
It
rubbed away the clouds and tamed the sea.
The sun shone across the calm water and lit up the pale blue sky.
The storm shrugged back into a corner of the world.

Stormy
Sea Poem
by Lucy Howick 7H
It
was a dark, cold, gloomy night,
The waves were roaring with all their might.
The waves were crashing and crumbling
And the sea was turning black.
A
massive rumble and a gleaming flash,
A ground shaking tremendous, thumping bash.
Rain rushing down at a wild speed,
Splashing and sploshing down to the beach.
The
wind hissing and howling,
Hissing like a slimy, scaly snake.
The screeching of thunder,
Like a squealing bat.
The
last thundering boom,
The last darkness of gloom,
A little splater of rain,
And everything's gone again.
