MY MOBILE PHONE
For 18 months all I wanted was a mobile phone,
Because my answer phone did not have remote access, so I couldn't phone
home.
A call from Richard and Judy's program I received too late,
So I couldn't keep that very important date.
Every time I went away, I kept missing calls, this is
a high price to pay,
We even bought a new answer phone, with remote one day,
But all this did was squeak and groan,
So I really wanted a mobile phone.
Then one day we went to a garden fete,
It cost 25p at the gate,
There was a stall for charity, £1 a go, so into my pocket I dug,
The object was to get a ping-pong ball into a mug.
You had three balls, the first one I threw short, the second went over
the table, almost into a rubbish bin.
The third, bounced up and down for ages, then finally went in,
The lady said you've won, and lifted up the mug to see
What number prize I had won,
I let out a scream, I could hardly believe my eyes,
When she handed me, a brand new prepaid mobile phone,
Now it doesn't matter, wherever I roam,
Now that I have my mobile phone.
